Rehearse your weather map presentation by clicking on the presentation mode and pretending to "give the weather forecast" so that you know how long you will spend on each slide. When you have figured out exactly what you are going to say on each slide, proceed in making your video.

How to make your "Weather Map" video:

  1. Open your weather forecast powerpoint.
  2. Go to Slide Show and choose Rehearse Timings.
  3. Pretend to do your "weather forecast" and click your mouse when you want the next slide to show.
  4. You will be told how long your slide show is and asked if you would like to keep it. Say "yes".
  5. You will be asked if you want to see your show in the slide sorter view (then you can see how long each slide will last). Say "no" to this and then look at your forecast in the presentation view. Pretend to do your forecast again to make sure the timing of the slides are good. If you like the timing, go to #6. If you want to change your timing, go back to #2 and do it again until you are happy with the timing.
  6. Go to File and choose "Save as Movie" and place this in your document folder.
  7. Test your movie one last time before you go to the recording studio. Double click on your movie in the document folder and play your video. Make sure the timing is perfect.
  8. Now, get a flash drive from Mr. Peterson and transfer your forecast video to the flash drive.

How to add your bluescreen video to iMovie and combine it with your PowerPoint video:

  1. Plug the "Flip Video" camera into your computer.
  2. iPhoto should open on its own. (If not, raise your hand!)
  3. Choose import all.
  4. iPhoto will ask if you want to delete the photos or keep them. Keep them. Now you can delete your video off of the camera.
  5. Open iMovie. Choose "Create New Project" and make sure you save it in the local folder on Macintosh HD. You must name your project as follows: Fred M Forecast. Use your first name and last initial followed by Forecast. Click on Macintosh HD and choose Local. Now you can save.
  6. Click on "Media" and make sure you are clicked on iPhoto. You should see your PowerPoint movie that you created. Drag that video to the timeline.
  7. Import your PowerPoint video. Click on file and choose import. Now find your PowerPoint movie. It should be in your document folder. Click on it and choose "Open".
  8. Drag your PowerPoint movie into the timeline after your "Bluescreen" video. The two videos should be the same length. You may have to "trim" a little from your bluescreen video from either the beginning or the end.
  9. Click on the Bluescreen video. Now go to "Editing" and choose Video FX at the top. Scroll down until you see "Bluescreen smooth" and click on it.
  10. Do not adjust the Effect in or Effect out sliders. Adjust the three sliders on the bottom until you can see yourself in front of the screen.
  11. When you have it just right, click Apply. This will take a long time to render.

How to add the Blue Screen Effect to your computer:
  1. You'll need two windows open to drag from one thing to another. If you have two open, go to #3 below. In not, click on the finder to open a window.
  2. Go to File and choose New Finder Window. Now you should have two windows open.
  3. In one window, click on AMS Teachers/Grade 6/Reardon/Nekoosa Pics/Blue Screen
  4. In the other window, click on your house/library/imovie/plug-ins
  5. Now drag the MasksComposite.bundle from the blue screen folder into the plug-in folder.
  6. Now start up iMovie and you will have the blue screen effect.
